  • Redskins won the Super Bowl
  • Gas was $1.08 a gallon
  • Top Movies were: Die Hard, Rain Man, Beaches
  • Top Bands: Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi, In Living Color
  • Don't Worry, Be Happy was song of the year
  • The "California Raisins" made their commercial debut
  • Prozac was introduced as an antidepressant
